Our FEATURED QUILT is an amazing interpretation of a design we have never seen before.
“Chimney Swallow” is the name we were given for this design from the last owner, but that may the “family name” for it. We have not yet found a documented or traditional name for it.
In CRISP, near- mint condition and measuring 70 x 87 inches, this *Graphic Wonder* contains more than 14,000 pieces! Made circa 1880.
The quilt maker was remarkably confident and skilled: boldly creative in her design, meticulous in her piecing, and an expert at hand quilting, which she executed at 9 to 10 tiny, even stitches per inch (counting one side only.)
All cottons, separately bound.
